December 3: International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Today we remember the millions of people who overcome barriers every day: physical, social and psychological.
It is a day to speak about equal rights, opportunities and dignity.
More than 2.7 million people with disabilities live in Ukraine, and many of them face inaccessible infrastructure: schools without ramps, poorly adapted transport and public spaces.
The war has made things even harder: thousands of people have become disabled because of their injuries, and rehabilitation and support are often not enough.
But there are people and organizations changing things for the better: civic initiatives, volunteers, businesses and inclusive projects. They prove that inclusion is not just a word but a real path.
How can you help?
• Volunteer or make a donation;
• Support accessible businesses and initiatives;
• Check whether a space is accessible for people with disabilities;
• Communicate with respect: avoid labels, ask instead of assuming.
Together we can build a kinder, barrier-free world ❤️
