On September 24–25 and October 6–7, the team of the NGO “Agape Ukraine” made two humanitarian trips to the Kherson region. 💙💛
Despite constant shelling, our team safely reached its destination. In Kherson, we handed out food packages to local residents and delivered aid to Ukrainian soldiers and to our brother who serves as a staff chaplain in an air defense unit protecting Mykolaiv. Among other things, we brought an oil-filled heater, water and homemade pastries baked by the “Agape” staff.
In Kherson, the shelling does not stop even at night. People have to live under the constant threat of attacks, and moving around the city is dangerous because of drones. Yet despite everything, the city’s utility services keep working, and local residents do not lose faith that Kherson will stand.
Some of the food packages were handed out to people who came to pray at a local church. The pastor and his team passed on the rest to those in need. The church also supports children and low-income families.
It is important for us to be with those who are going through this difficult time and to remind them: they are remembered, they are prayed for, and they are being helped.
🙏 Special thanks to everyone who takes part in this ministry:
• Kivertsi Bible Church, for funding the fuel;
• the Mennonite Centre charitable foundation and Olha Rubel, for financial support;
• the leadership of the “Agape Ukraine” Rehabilitation Complex, Executive Director Anna Leshchuk and Administrator Roman Antoniuk;
• the staff who sort, pack and prepare humanitarian aid;
• the volunteers who risk their own lives to deliver it to people.
We thank God for protection on the road and for the opportunity to serve those in need.
We believe, we pray, and we await Victory! 🇺🇦
